Strategy

“To establish a global brand presence, expand our brand horizontally, consolidate our position, prove the feasibility of our technology and license it.”

Plantagon was founded in 2008. From the first day we had a global agenda. Being the pioneer and market maker in a new industry we knew that we had to be in it for a while, and we took on the challenge to go the patent and branding route instead of making prototypes and small-scale solutions. Many criticized us for this, mostly because they wondered when we would start building houses. When we answered ”We are not into building houses, we develop technology for others,” we knew that some didn’t believe us. Today we define a totally new market segment within sustainable city development. Our own technology is far from everything we use in our solutions and we apply our brand on other companies’ products.

R&D and the resulting technological innovations are the principal factors for Plantagon International’s business success. Plantagon International’s innovation strategy involves benefiting from technological innovations by using the full range of intellectual property (IP) rights in the development of urban agriculture.

We develop ideas, technologies and business models that help satisfy people’s need for safe and secure locally grown food in cities around the world – or, in short, agritechture.

Our solutions are based on innovative thinking and symbiotic co-operation. We strive to reduce the use of transportation, land, energy and water, at the same time as we use waste material from the surrounding community whilst minimizing the waste created through our solutions, or even eliminating waste entirely.

Our brand and business strategy is based upon:

  1. True innovation – demonstrated through new and better
    – Thinking and Ideas
    – Products and Solutions
    – Organization structures, business models and partnerships
  2. Technology and consulting: Innovative ideas and intelligent thinking that combine horticultural expertise, technical expertise, business acumen and social responsibility into coherent and future-oriented food supply solutions.
  3. Secure, safe and symbiotic urban agritechture solutions.
